ARCHIVED - Violence ruled out in death of young woman found beside San Javier nightclub
A toxicology report should shed some light on the tragic death of the 22-year-old San Javier woman
The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has ruled out a violent death in the case of a 22-year-old girl whose body was found next to a nightclub in San Javier last week.
The preliminary report of the post-mortem on the young woman does not reveal any information that points in this direction, according to sources linked to the case.
Investigators are now waiting on the results of toxicology analyses which have been sent to a laboratory in Madrid and could take several weeks yet to produce any evidence that substances were involved in her death.
The tragic events unfolded on Friday August 5 when the emergency services were informed that a woman had become unwell close to the discothèque at around 6am. Officers from the Guardia Civil travelled to the scene and found the woman dead on the ground.
According to official reports, a young man was with the victim when the officers arrived and was questioned extensively, but it was clear from the outset that her body did not present apparent signs of violence.
