More than 180 kilos of marijuana seized in San Fulgencio, Alicante
The National Police initially discovered 57 kg of Marijuana on route to Germany
The Spanish National Police have arrested a 27-year-old Dutch man in San Fulgencio, Alicante after seizing more than 180 kilos of vacuum-packed marijuana. The arrested man was trying to send the drug to Germany using a parcel transport company.
The National Police tracked the man down after they had located a suspicious package at a transport company in Torrellano. After inspecting the package, it was discovered that it contained 56 vacuum-packed bags of marijuana, each weighing 1.095 kilos each. The packages were hidden inside plastic boxes and sealed with glue. The total weight of the packages was 57 kilos.
After the discovery, the police agents obtained all the necessary information about the events, managing to identify the sender, who used a false name to make the shipments. Eventually, after investigating the situation for 24 hours, the suspect was stopped in the town of San Fulgencio, while he was trying to make a new delivery of drugs, using a rental van to transport them.
An additional 28 bags of marijuana were seized on site with the total weight of these bags coming in at 30.66 kilos. Then the National Police agents contacted the German authorities and a few days later they intercepted four more packages previously sent by the detainee, which contained a total of 40 kilos of marijuana and which were already in Germany.
Finally, a further six packages with 50 vacuum-packed bags weighing 55,653 kilos were discovered at the Torrellano Package company. This discovery took the overall weight discovered by the police up to 180 kilos of Marijuana from one single supplier. The street value of all the drugs which have been siezed could be north of 500,00 euros.
