The residents of Camposol gather together to address the problems of Camposol with the Councillor for Mazarrón urban planning
Joint Press Release
On Thursday, March 9, 2023, a meeting took place between the town planning councillor of Mazarrón Town Council, Ginés Campillo, accompanied by other local political representatives, and representatives of various groups and associations from Camposol.
The CRA resident’s association, the association's lawyer, Gerardo Vázquez, the Camposol business association, the Camposol 2025 group and a representative of Sector C5 of the urbanisation attended the meeting. The residents were also accompanied by Maura Hillen, the former president of the Andalusian association known as “AUAN”, and a journalist from Camposol Today was present. The residents report that it was a useful and constructive meeting, and they thanked Sr. Campillo for his kindness in assisting them and spending his time.
During the meeting, several of the complex problems of this large urbanisation where some 4,000 families live were discussed. Opinions and information were exchanged on a varied number of issues, such as the private streets of the development, the lack of a Licence of First Occupation for many homes, the "turístico" classification of a substantial number of homes, the need to complete the development and its cost, the application of the guarantees recovered to finish the urbanisation, the investment that was going to be made in lighting the public streets of the urbanisation, the diversion of the rambla (riverbed) in Sector D, and the upcoming changes in the municipal planning. Sr. Campillo highlighted the information that is being given on the urban changes in process through the Town Council website and in meetings.
The representatives of the residents informed Camposol Today that they left the meeting happy and that they believe that the Town Council is willing to solve the problem of Camposol. The residents consider that by collaborating together, substantial progress can be made on the problems. Future meetings between the resident’s representatives and Sr. Campillo are planned.
