Aguilas castle restaurant to get new owners
The concession for the management of the restaurant at the San Juan de las Águilas castle has been put out to tender
On Thursday March 14, 2024, the public tender dossier for the concession for the operation and management of the Restaurante Zoco del Mar, the restaurant located just below the entrance to the Castillo de San Juan de las Águilas was made public by the Town Hall in Águilas.
The tender announcement for the award of this concession was published in the Ayuntamiento’s Contractor Profile, in the State Public Sector Contracting Platform and in the VORTAL electronic tendering platform.
The Zoco del Mar is possibly the restaurant with the most spectacular location in the whole of Águilas, sitting just beneath the castle and offering panoramic views out through its large internal glass-fronted area and external terrace over the Mediterranean Sea, the bay between the headland and the Pico del Aguilica, the town and most of the municipality.
Traditionally, customers with restaurant bookings at Zoco del Mar have been able to take advantage of a free bus service which runs between the Plaza de España in the centre of the town up to the restaurant during its opening hours.
Now, the town is putting out to tender the management of the restaurant, and the deadline for submission of bids by interested parties, which must be made through the VORTAL electronic tendering platform, is 15 days from the day after publication, ending on April 10, 2024.
