There has been a great increase in the number of Mazarrón establishments joining the Tourism Quality System of destinations 'SICTED'
On November 6 a meeting of the tourism quality working party 'Destino Mazarrón' was held, where more Mazarrón additions to the 'SICTED' project were presented.
'SICTED' is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the Spanish Secretary of State for Tourism, with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with tourist services of up to 37 different trades, with the ultimate objective of improving the experience and satisfaction for tourists.
Within the framework of the "Destination Mazarrón" meeting, the progress of the project in Mazarrón in the year 2024 was discussed.
The Mayor, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for Tourism, Andrés Aznar, the General Director of Quality and Tourism Competitiveness of the Region of Murcia, Eva Reverte and Ricardo Asensio as a representative of the Mazarrón business association, ACOMA attended.
Currently the destination has 37 member companies, of which 31 companies are distinguished, of which 13 are of a public nature such as the beaches, which in turn are certified with the Q for tourist quality, and the S for Tourism Sustainability, the OIT Archaeological Museum and Roman Salted Fish Factory, the Phoenician Ship Information Centre and the Torre de los Caballos (Tower of the Horses), it is also worth highlighting the incorporation of the Civil Protection service. The other 19 are private and belong to 8 different trades, including hotels and tourist apartments, bars and cafes, tourist transport, active tourism, etc.
It should be noted that in the last 3 years, the municipality of Mazarrón has gone from 10 establishments to 34 companies joined to the "Destino Mazarrón" system.
