Lorca public swimming pools reopen for summer on July 1
La Parroquia and Zarcilla de Ramos pools have been spruced up ahead of the busy season

The municipal summer swimming pools in La Parroquia and Zarcilla de Ramos will reopen to the public on Wednesday July 1, marking the start of the summer season.
Both facilities will remain open until August 31, operating Tuesday to Sunday from 1pm to 8pm, while Mondays will be reserved for cleaning and maintenance.
Extensive work has been carried out since early May by the maintenance service of the Lorca City Council’s Department of Sports to ensure both pools are in optimal condition for the season. The improvements include draining and deep cleaning the pools, checking and servicing pumps, filtration and purification systems, repainting and general upkeep, landscaping and repairs across various parts of the facilities. Maintenance has also been completed on showers and other auxiliary areas.
At Zarcilla de Ramos, upgrades include a new entrance gate, the replacement of fencing around the paddling pool and the installation of air conditioning in the entrance control booth. In La Parroquia, a new shaded area has been created using three large umbrellas, while artificial turf has been installed around the children’s play area to improve both comfort and safety.
Health and safety inspections have also been completed to guarantee water quality in line with current regulations. In addition, lifeguard services, access control and security arrangements have been put in place for the duration of the season, alongside routine cleaning and customer service support at both venues.
Children and young people up to 18 years old, as well as pensioners, will pay €2 per visit, with five-entry passes available for €8 and ten-entry passes for €14. Adults will pay €3 per entry, with passes priced at €12 and €21. Family tickets are set at €10, with a five-pass option available for €40. Discounts of 20 to 30 percent continue to apply for large families and Youth Card holders.
Alongside recreational swimming, aquatic activities will resume in July, including swimming lessons and aquagym sessions. Zarcilla de Ramos will host classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while La Parroquia will run sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays.
