La Manga del Mar Menor Bus 44 gets seven more stops for summer
It is part of a project to improve the movement of people in La Manga and ease traffic in the busy summer months
The number of stops on the bus line 44 between Cabo de Palos and Veneziola, in La Manga del Mar Menor, increases from 27 to 34 in both directions starting from Thursday June 27 until September 1.
This development, included as part of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy project ‘La Manga 365’, will ensure a journey time of less than 5 minutes from any point in La Manga to a bus stop, according to the Region of Murcia government.
The measure, which is costing the Regional Ministry of Development and Infrastructure 31,000 euros, “allows us to reinforce the rolling stock and driving staff assigned to the line, thus ensuring the number and frequency of journeys during the summer season, when travel increases considerably,” as explained by the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Manuel Pancorbo.
Minister Pancorbo was at pains to point out that this measure will benefit Cartagena, San Javier and the entire Region of Murcia.
He concluded by saying that he is determined to “solve the problems of accessibility and mobility that [La Manga] suffers from, especially in summer.”
