June 20 Alan Parsons Live Project is coming to Murcia
The legendary producer and composer will make an appearance on June 20 at the Murcia Bullring
Murcia will play host to the famed musician Alan Parsons, who penned the super hit Eye in the sky Back in 1982, at the Bullring in the city centre in 2025. The Grammy Award-winning, legendary musical icon of prog-rock will take to the stage on June 20 as part of his small tour of Spain.
Parsons, who came from a family of show businesses and was cousins with the late film star Oliver Reed, is a musical favourite of people who grew up in the 1980s. His appearance in Murcia is therefore sure to cause excitement amongst the people of the city.
In his youth, Alan was an acoustic folk/blues performer and lead guitarist for a blues band called The Earth. By the time he was 19 years of age, Parson landed a job at the famous Abbey Road studios and worked with the Beatles as an assistant engineer.
After become a qualified sound engineer, Parsons worked with Paul McCartney and The Hollies, among others. However, it was his contribution as engineer on Pink Floyd's classic The Dark Side Of The Moon that really brought him worldwide attention.
In 1975 Parsons joined forces with Eric Woolfson, who not only became his manager but also started to help Alan with songwriting and became his performing partner for what became known as The Alan Parsons Project.
The rest of their story has been recorded in musical history and by the 1980s the band was famous around the world for their music. Now forty years on, Parsons is coming to the South of Spain and is offering the people of Murcia the one time opportunity to go and see the musical legend in concert.
