Work starts to clear weeds and vegetation from the municipality’s public roads and pavements
After an announcement by Mayor Gaspar Miras, Mazarrón Council have embarked on a widespread clean-up of the municipal road infrastucture and to this end have employed extra staff through “Bahía de Mazarrón Ingeniería Urbana”, the concern responsible for cleaning and refuse collection. A works foreman visited Camposol on May 16 and indicated that workers would be dispatched later that week to commence clearing weeds etc from public roads on the urbanisation.
Workers arrived on the urbanisation within a few days armed with strimmers and bushcutters and commenced work on Sector D. Work will continue to clear weeds and undergrowth that encroaches onto the public roads and pavements, the workers will move on next to Sector C then Sectors B and A
Mazarrón Local Police have issued a warning of potential fire hazards caused by vegetation spreading onto roads which after recent hot weather could be ignited by a discarded cigarette butt or glass, the hazard is further exacerbated by the shortage of fire brigade crew in the town.
