Season of 5 classical music concerts in Águilas announced for late 2026
The A Tempo season begins on 30th October at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas
It has been a few years now since the regular “ProMúsica” seasons of classical music concerts and recitals in Águilas was discontinued, but now a new cycle of concerts has been announced under the name of “A Tempo” for the last three months of 2026, with tickets now on sale for the events at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena on the seafront behind the Playa de las Delicias.
The programme for the five events is as follows:
Friday 30th October
20.00: “El Gesto Heróico” (The Heroic Gesture), with two great orchestral pieces performed by the Myrtus Festival Orquesta under the baton and musical direction of Jonatan Rives and Antonio Cánovas, the conductor of the Patronato Musical Aguileño group, who will be the soloist in the “Concertino da camera” by Jacques Ibert. The main pieces are Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony (nº 35) and Beethoven’s third symphony, the “Eroica”.

Saturday November 14
20.00: The Schubert Quartet perform two of the great works of romantic chamber music: Robert Schumann’s piano quartet in B flat major and Brahms’ piano quartet nº1, a selection exuding a wealth of expression and lyricism by two of the most important composers of the 19th century.
Sunday November 29
20.00: This time the performers are the Euphonia Trio (soprano María Jesús García, clarinettist Juan Miguel Ortega and pianist Juan Antonio Higuero), who have selected works by Schubert, Spohr and Massenet. This repertoire is a short journey through the poetry, emotivity and expressivity of vocal chamber music, with the highlight perhaps being Massenet’s well-known aria.

Saturday December 5
20.00: The Tempus Trío explore the most intimate music of Ludwig van Beethoven in one of his first works for a piano trio, the Gassenhauer Trio (1797-98). The three musicians are María Tió (violin), Ferran Bardolet (cello) and Ricard Rovirosa (piano), and are enjoying considerable international success, having made their debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2024 after winning the Golden Classic Music Awards.
The recital precedes the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in 2027.
Sunday December 20
20.00: The Dianto Reed Quintet are known internationally for their innovative approach to playing, and here they take a look at the identities, origins and diversity of composers such as Sibelius, Falla, Skalkottas and Boulanger, as well as a more contemporary repertoire. Both European and American music are featured, and the interest in universal dialogue is reflected in the name of the formation: “dianto” is the Esperanto word for “carnation”.

Season tickets can be purchased for all five concerts at 75 euros while individual event tickets are priced at 20 euros: all are available online here, as well as through the auditorium box office and at the local Archaeological museum and the Casa de la Cultura.
