After a warm and settled weekend, the new week starts in a similar vein for much of Andalucía, but with a bit more cloud, a few isolated showers in the east and a noticeable jump in temperatures inland. The Guadalquivir Valley will feel particularly hot at times, while the coast stays a little fresher thanks to the easterly breeze.

 

 

Monday brings partly cloudy skies across much of the region, with some mid and high cloud drifting through and low cloud in the morning around the Strait. Temperatures change very little, so it remains pleasantly mild, and winds are light and variable for most places. Around Tarifa and the Strait, however, a moderate easterly breeze will keep things feeling fresher.

 

 

Tuesday is the hottest day of the period for many inland areas, with partly cloudy skies and the chance of showers, sometimes with thunderstorms, in the eastern mountain areas. Temperatures rise sharply, especially in the Guadalquivir Valley, where Seville could reach 35°C and inland areas will move above 30 °C. Winds start light to moderate from the east before turning southerly in the afternoon, so it will feel very warm and still in places like Córdoba and Jaén.

 

 

Wednesday looks a little cloudier, with low cloud, morning mist and some fog in the western half, while cloud also builds over the eastern mountains. Temperatures drop on the Atlantic side but stay similar or rise slightly on the Mediterranean coast, leaving Cádiz the coolest spot at around 22°C. Winds are light and variable, so it should feel calmer than Tuesday even if the sky is less settled.

 

 

Thursday is more unsettled, with cloudy skies and bands of mid and high cloud, plus a chance of light rain in the western third and over mountain areas elsewhere. Minimum temperatures rise in central areas, while daytime values fall along the Mediterranean coast but climb elsewhere. Málaga and Almería should stay warmer than the coast further west, with moderate to strong easterly winds again along the Mediterranean and lighter, more variable winds inland.

 

 

The warm spell is likely to continue inland, although cloud and the odd shower will keep things a little more mixed on the coast.
