Weather alerts issued as strong winds and rain return: Alicante weather forecast January 19-22
Weather warnings are in place as rain, strong winds, and rough seas start the week

January is reminding us it’s still winter this week, with cloudy skies, spells of rain, strong winds and unsettled coastal conditions across the Alicante region. AEMET has also issued a Mediterranean weather alert, warning of rough seas, stronger winds and heavier rain at times, particularly early in the week, before conditions begin to ease.
Monday January 19

It will start fairly cloudy and turn more overcast as the day goes on, with cloud spreading from north to south. A few light, patchy showers are possible along the coast in the morning, but not everywhere will see rain. Nights will be slightly milder though, but daytime temperatures will drop slightly, some inland towns may even get some snow.
Tuesday January 20

Expect thick cloud and rain across much of Alicante province, with the north coast most likely to see heavier and more persistent downpours. Temperatures won’t change much, but it may feel colder at times thanks to the wind. Moderate northerly winds will affect coastal areas, with the chance of very strong gusts in exposed spots and near the northern mountain ranges.
Wednesday January 21

There should be some brighter spells early in the day, before cloud builds again later in the day. Rain is possible first thing and again towards the evening, but there should be dry breaks in between. Thunderstorms are expected in the evening as Storm Harry sweeps across Spain. Daytime temperatures will lift, especially inland, making it feel a bit milder where the sun appears. Winds will be light to moderate from the west.
Thursday January 22

The day will start partly cloudy with some sunny spells around midday, but skies will become cloudier later. A little light rain is possible, but mainly inland. Temperatures will stay much the same, though moderate westerly winds could bring strong gusts inland around lunchtime.
Mediterranean weather alert
AEMET has issued a Mediterranean weather warning in place until Tuesday January 20, covering the Valencian Community. This includes the risk of strong winds, rough seas and heavier rain along the coast, as well as snow on higher ground inland. Coastal conditions may be rough at times, so be careful near promenades and other exposed coastal areas.
January isn’t letting up yet with more winter weather on the way. With the weather alert in place, be careful if you head out for a walk by the beach. The alert will be in place until Tuesday, but it’s worth checking AEMET for any updates before heading out.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week:

Tuesday January 20: Min 10ºC, Max 16ºC
Wednesday January 21: Min 9ºC, Max 18ºC
