Warmer temperatures after the storms: Murcia weather forecast Dec 29-Jan 4
The Region of Murcia will welcome 2026 with mixed weather and unseasonably mild nights

Weather outlook on Thursday January 1
Over the weekend, Murcia and much of south-eastern Spain were battered by torrential rain and flooding, with red weather alerts issued in the Vega del Segura and other areas as storm systems brought intense downpours, overflowing watercourses and widespread damage.
As we head into the New Year celebrations, the weather is going to settle down a bit but it’s still going to be a very mixed week throughout the Region of Murcia. Temperatures will be mild for winter though, with daytime readings typically in the low to mid-teens and cooler nights.
Monday December 29

The week begins with the lingering influence of unstable weather. Skies will be mostly cloudy in the morning with scattered showers possible, especially inland. Rain will gradually ease during the afternoon, giving way to brighter spells. Daytime highs should reach around 13 to 14°C, with nights cooling to about 5°C.
Aemet has kept a yellow alert in place for Monday, with the Campo de Cartagena area potentially seeing another 15 litres per square metre of rain before the system finally moves on.
Tuesday December 30

Expect a much improved day with largely dry conditions and frequent sunshine. After recent stormy weather it will feel pleasant by winter standards, and the afternoon temperature could climb to about 15°C. Overnight, clear skies will lead to cooler temperatures near 4°C.
Wednesday December 31, New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve should be mainly dry and bright, with sunshine interspersed with light cloud. Daytime temperatures will be similar to Tuesday, around 14°C. Night-time temperatures will remain cool but not freezing.
Thursday January 1, New Year’s Day

The first day of 2026 looks calm with sunny spells and some high cloud as a mild air mass persists. Maximum temperatures should reach around 13°C, making for a comfortable start to the year. It will be a crisp evening as temperatures drop closer to 5°C again and even touch freezing in parts.
Friday January 2

Cloud will start to increase throughout the day, but conditions will remain largely dry. Bright intervals will still be present, and this transitional day will see highs of around 15°C. Nights will be mild for winter, averaging around 6°C.
Saturday January 3

Saturday will continue the trend of mixed skies, with some sunshine in the morning and more extensive cloud later. Mild air will remain over the Region, lifting daytime temperatures to around 16°C. Overnight, lows will be around 8°C.
Sunday January 4

Looking ahead to the final day of the weekend, a chance of heavy showers cannot be ruled out, particularly in the morning. Cloud will dominate with patchy brightness later in the day. Daytime highs should be around 12 to 15°C, with night-time temperatures hovering between 4 and 9°C.
