Toddler in critical condition after drowning scare at Fuerteventura hotel
It has not yet been revealed how exactly the incident could occur

A two-year-old child is in a serious condition after a drowning scare at a hotel complex in the south of Spain’s Canary Island of Fuerteventura.
The incident happened shortly before 10am on Monday April 6 in the resort town of Jandía, when staff at the hotel raised the alarm after the child was pulled from the pool showing signs of drowning.
The Canary Islands emergency coordination centre received the alert and dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene, where paramedics provided urgent treatment before transferring the child to Fuerteventura General Hospital.
The toddler’s condition has been described as serious, although no further medical update has been released.
The incident took place in the hotel’s swimming pool area, but authorities have not yet confirmed how the child came to be in difficulty.
Emergency services responded swiftly after receiving the call, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are likely to be reviewed.
