There will be a bus replacement between Murcia and Cartagena this August and September
This bus replacement service offers an alternative route due to the works taking place on the Riquelme-Sucina and La Palma-Pozo Estrecho stretch
This August and September, train passengers wanting to travel on the Proximidad train service between Cartagena and Murcia city will have to take a rail replacement service by bus, which is being put on by Renfe due to the construction of the high-speed line on the section between Riquelme-Sucina and La Palma-Pozo Estrecho.
Between Friday August 2 and Tuesday September 24, inclusive, this bus replacement service will be provided on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesday every week.
The bus journey will be included for no extra cost when you purchase a train ticket where part of the journey involves transfer between Murcia and Cartagena.
During this period, for trains that were scheduled to leave Cartagena at 6.10am, 1.20pm and 3.15pm will depart by bus 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled time in order to allow for possible delays due to traffic.
On Tuesdays, the bus replacement service departs from Cartagena at 4.45am.
With this measure, Renfe aims to guarantee the mobility of passengers using the Proximidad services between Murcia and Cartagena.
It is important to be aware that neither animals nor bicycles that do not fold may travel on these bus replacement services as they could on the trains.
