Southern Murcia on yellow alert this Friday for rain and storms
Authorities are urging caution when faced with heavy rain and storms, which have a history if leading to flooding and destruction in southern Spain

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has updated its yellow-level adverse weather warnings in the Region of Murcia this Friday May 23, issuing an alert for rain and storms from 8am until 6pm.
This updated weather forecast maintains the prediction of a warm and sunny Saturday and Sunday in Murcia, but the rain forecast for this Friday is to be stronger than initially thought, according to Aemet, who warn of up to 15mm of rainfall per hour during the period in which the yellow alert is active.
They also warn of storms in the southwest Guadalentín Valley area of Lorca, Mazarrón and Águilas, the Campo de Cartagena around the Mar Menor, and in central Murcia too.
While the rain is expected to ease off and cease towards the evening, it is advised to take precaution when driving or out and about in inclement weather conditions.
