Mazarron brings in drones to tackle mosquitoes from the air
Health authorities in Mazarrón have used drones to spray the municipality

The recent torrential rains in the Region of Murcia have created the perfect breeding ground for the summer’s most irritating insect: the mosquito.
Tackling the problem head on, the Department of Health in Mazarrón has hired pest control experts Lokímica, who have employed state-of-the-art drones to fumigate the Bahia canals and surrounds, which are now impossible to reach by land due to the June storms.

Technical staff from the company keep tabs on mosquito populations on a weekly basis and spray the drains throughout the municipality each month to keep the numbers at a manageable level.
Mazarrón City Council has reminded residents that their collaboration is vital in preventing mosquitoes from getting out of hand this summer, and has asked locals to regularly empty any accumulated water around the home.
