Man flies from Ibiza to Dublin with 440,000 euros worth of cannabis in his bag
The man was found with 47 packages of the drug when stopped in Dublin
Last Friday October 25, a 33-year-old man was arrested at Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 after getting off a flight from Ibiza. The police then found 47 packages of cannabis worth around 440,000 euros on him.
The arrest was made after a sniffer dog from the airport customs service identified the luggage.
The suspect, an Irish national, reportedly appeared in court on Saturday, charged with illegal importation and possession of cannabis with intent to sell.
Due to the seriousness of the crime, the judge in charge of his case denied him bail until October 31, when the trial will continue.
According to the Irish press, the detainee is a fisherman with several accumulated debts.
