Brit in search of man who saved him from drowning as a boy in a pool in Mallorca
Ben Roberts was just six-years-old when he almost drowned in 1983 and now he wishes to personally thank his saviour
A British man named Ben Roberts has started a search for the man who saved him from drowning in a hotel pool in Mallorca in 1983. Ben, who at the time was 6 years old when he was saved, now wishes to personally thank his fellow British tourist for what he did for him all those years ago.
Ben has now taken to social media in search of the man who saved him 40 years ago. Ben has shared a photo of himself as a boy with the man who saved his life after he was discharged from hospital in Mallorca a number of days after the Incident.
Ben wrote on social media "In the summer of 1983 or 1984, this man saved my life by rescuing me unconscious from the bottom of a swimming pool in Mallorca when I was five or six years old. In that photo, I had already left the hospital. My parents cannot remember his name, but I would like to find him to thank him."
The problem that Ben faces is that there is little known about the man who saved him that day. A newspaper from the town the man is believed to be from, North Staffordshire, knows only that he is now between 70 and 80 years old and he was on holiday with his wife and children the day he became a hero.
