Body of dead diver found on La Manga beach
The corpse washed up wearing fins and a wetsuit

The lifeless body of a person was found this Thursday morning, February 1, on the shore of a beach in La Manga del Mar Menor, according to Guardia Civil sources.
The incident took place on the Playa de Calnegre, near the Monteblanco urbanisation. At around 9.30am, a local person living there saw the motionless body from their house, using binoculars, and raised the alarm.
When police arrived on the scene, they verified that the person was wearing fins and a wetsuit, so it was someone who was diving and probably felt unwell in the water. The marine currents would have dragged the body towards the shore.
Investigations will now ensue to identify the person and try to find out if there is any record of a diver having disappeared in the area.
The body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
It comes a week after the lifeless body of a missing teenager was recovered from the Mar Menor.
