Body found sealed in sack at Málaga swamp
Guardia Civil investigating after grim discovery at reservoir in Almogía

According to investigative sources, a foreign citizen discovered the body at around 11.30am on Tuesday October 14 in the Casasola reservoir, an area that is difficult to access. The sack was sealed with tape, and initial observations suggested that the person had not been dead for a long time.
After receiving a call reporting the find, Almogía’s Local Police attended the scene to verify the information before notifying the Guardia Civil, who have since taken charge of the investigation.
Members of the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos (Provincial Fire Consortium) were also present to assist with the recovery operation. The body was removed from the water at about 3.00pm and taken to the Málaga Institute of Forensic Medicine. An autopsy will be carried out there to determine the cause of death.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and no further details about the identity of the deceased or the circumstances of the discovery have been released. The Guardia Civil investigation remains ongoing.
