A unique way to donate food to the needy this Christmas
This Sunday, a travelling wagon will be wheeled through the streets of Águilas taking donations
As a way of helping the Caritas charity and many families in need at this time of year, this coming Sunday December 17, 2023, the Brotherhood of Águilas has launched the initiative ‘Carreta Solidaria’ that aims to allow people to donate towards a worthy cause.It will consist of a travelling wagon that is pulled through the town, to which you can leave donations of food that will later be handed out to the needy.
It will be leaving from the town’s Iglesia del Carmen at 12 o’clock midday and will travel along Juan Carlos I before arriving at the Glorieta, where there will also be a Christmas market. The wagon’s route ends at the door of the local Caritas headquarters, where all the food that has been collected throughout the morning will be delivered, ready to be distributed to those families who need it this Christmas.
