38°C heat gives way to rain and cooler temperatures: Andalucía weather forecast September 7-10
Temperatures will climb into the high 30s at the start of the week before cooler conditions and the possibility of rain arrive in parts of Andalucía

Summer is still making its presence felt across Andalucía, with temperatures set to reach 38°C in Antequera on Monday and 37°C in Ronda. While coastal areas will be a little more manageable, inland parts of the region will remain very warm through the start of the week.
A change will begin to arrive from Wednesday, with temperatures falling inland and the possibility of some light, scattered rain. By Thursday, the Mediterranean coast will also see a noticeable drop in temperatures, with Málaga and Marbella both reaching just 28°C.
Here is the daily breakdown for Andalucía from Monday, September 7 to Thursday, September 10:
Monday September 7
Monday will be mostly clear inland, although there will be some cloud, mist and fog possible along the coast. Clouds could also build over the mountain areas during the afternoon. Temperatures will rise, reaching 38°C in Antequera and 37°C in Ronda. Málaga and Vélez-Málaga will both reach 32°C, while Marbella will be slightly cooler at 30°C.
Winds will be light and variable, with coastal breezes developing during the day.
Tuesday September 8
Tuesday will remain mostly clear, with some cloud developing over the mountain areas. There will also be some cloud and mist along the coast, while Saharan dust could affect the region. Temperatures will remain high, with Antequera reaching 37°C and Ronda 35°C. Málaga and Vélez-Málaga will both reach 32°C, while Marbella will reach 29°C.
Winds will be light and variable, with a mainly westerly component.
Wednesday September 9
Wednesday will bring the first signs of a change, with some cloud and the possibility of light, scattered rain. Temperatures will fall inland, with Antequera reaching 31°C and Ronda 30°C. Málaga will reach 35°C, while temperatures will climb to 36°C in Vélez-Málaga and 33°C in Marbella.
Winds will become westerly and moderate to strong along the Mediterranean coast, with lighter winds elsewhere.
Thursday September 10
Thursday will be a cooler day for much of Andalucía, although there will still be some variation across the region. Cloudy spells could bring light to moderate rain in parts of the region, particularly away from the Atlantic side. Temperatures along the Mediterranean coast will fall further, with Málaga and Marbella both reaching 28°C and Vélez-Málaga 29°C. Antequera will reach 27°C, while Ronda will reach 28°C.
Winds will be light and variable, with southerly winds becoming more prevalent.
Could this finally be the beginning of autumn in Andalucía? After such an intense summer, many people will no doubt be looking forward to cooler temperatures, more comfortable days and those cosy autumn evenings. It may still be too early to pack away the summer clothes, but a break from the heat will certainly be welcome.
