Still windy, but much drier with temps up to 26: Murcia weekly weather forecast February 9-12
It’s not that it won’t rain at all this week, because it will, but the weather will be noticeably more pleasant than in the last two weeks
Murcia weather forecast, Wednesday February 4
Storms Joseph, Katrin, Leonardo and Marta have left some pretty serious situations for parts of Spain over the last couple of weeks, with flooding, evacuations and even deaths caused by the wind and rain.
This week, there are still yellow and orange weather alerts active from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for strong winds in coastal areas of Spain – both north and south – but for those in the Region of Murcia, at least, the week ahead is forecast to bring much more settled, drier and warmer conditions. About time!
Monday February 9
Murcia weather forecast, Monday February 9The rain on Monday morning is forecast won’t last much beyond rush hour, with the dark clouds clearing away and the sun shining through from around 10am onwards. Minimum temperatures will be around 4-5ºC in the north and 8-10ºC in the south, while maximums in the early afternoon reach up to 19-21ºC.
It won’t be very windy, exactly, but the northwestern section of Murcia, in the area around Caravaca and Bullas, are on yellow alert from 6am to 6pm just because the very furthest, high-altitude corner of Murcia, the Macizo de Revolcadores, right on the border of Albacete, could see winds of around 35kmh with the occasional gust of up to 70kmh.
Tuesday February 10
Murcia weather forecast, Tuesday February 10Most of Tuesday will be calm and sunny, too, if slightly gustier all round in the afternoon, keeping the far northwest on yellow alert for gusts of up to 70kmh, and with the chance of some rain in this area from around midday onwards.
But the most noteworthy thing about the weather on Tuesday is that minimum temperatures rise to 11-12ºC in central and northern Murcia, while Cartagena and the coast can expect temperatures not to drop below 13-15ºC at their coldest point. During the day, the Region is forecast to hit highs of 25ºC in the capital, and only a couple of degrees shy of that elsewhere.
Wednesday February 11
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia, Wednesday February 11This incredible rise in temperatures continues into Wednesday, which is nonetheless supposed to be somewhat more overcast and still kind of breezy, with yellow alerts still active in the north. Minimums will not drop below 13ºC in the coldest part of the Region, Yecla, while the warmest part of Murcia, the central municipalities, could even reach as high as 26ºC!
Thursday February 12
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday February 12Thursday will be a bit cooler, but only by a couple of degrees, but nice and clear and sunny during the day, with only some high, scattered cloud cover. In the early half of the day, we will continue to have those strong winds in excess of 30kmh, but they are forecast to die down from the afternoon, leaving a pleasant evening, turning a bit rainy overnight going into Friday, but nothing too biblical.
