Following almost two weeks of unbearably high temperatures, the weather changed noticeably on Wednesday August 20 with far cloudier skies and much more comfortable days. A front is still positioned over Spain and this means that during the upcoming weekend, the Region of Murcia is in for a few dull days, scattered showers and even some thunderstorms.

 

Thursday will be cloudy throughout the Region with occasional rain forecast inland from the afternoon onwards. Night-time temperature will remain fairly stuffy but the mercury will drop across the board during the day.

 

Mostly cloudy skies are expected again on Friday with a good chance of afternoon showers in the likes of Caravaca, Yecla and central Murcia. Spotty storms are also a possibility in these areas. Temperatures will continue to fall, maxing out in the very low 30s.

 

Saturday should be a little brighter along the coast but inland, the cloud cover will build as the hours go by and more showers and storms are forecast here. Very few changes are expected temperature-wise but easterly winds could become a little blustery towards evening.

 

It should be another bright day in coastal areas with just a smattering of clouds. Once again, it will be more overcast inland but no rain is expected, although the temperatures will begin to creep up, hitting a maximum of 35ºC in Murcia.

• Friday August 22: Min 16ºC; Max 33ºC
• Saturday August 23: Min 16ºC; Max 34ºC
• Sunday August 24: Min 16ºC; Max 35ºC
