Shein and Temu outlet pops up in Murcia
Murcia shoppers can bag a real bargain with everything costing just €5
If you love scrolling through Shein for the latest trends or hopping on Temu for quirky finds, Murcia has just made your life a whole lot easier. A new outlet has popped up in the city centre offering pieces from both brands and the best part is that everything costs just €5. Yes, that's right, €5!
The store is tucked in at the corner of Calle Junterones and Calle Escultor Roque López, where the old Junterones Fruit Shop used to be, right near the Old Jail. Its window proudly shouts the all-items-for-5-euros deal but, curiously, the store doesn’t even have a sign with its name.
While Shein has become a global fast fashion giant thanks to low prices, rapid shipping and a never-ending stream of new items, it still operates mainly online with only a few pop-up stores in big cities like Madrid and Barcelona.
Shops like this one in Murcia aren’t official outlets, but they give shoppers a chance to grab popular items in person. Temu, which operates in a similar style, has also made its way into the mix, adding more variety to the racks.
It’s worth noting that Shein has made it clear these independent stores are not authorised, so they cannot guarantee the authenticity or quality of the products.
Still, for bargain hunters and fans of fast fashion, a quick trip to this little city centre gem might be worth it.
But on a wider note, the European Union is keeping a close eye on platforms like Temu, Shein and Amazon Marketplace because of a surge in counterfeit or potentially dangerous goods coming into Europe. The EU is proposing new customs regulations that would make these online retailers responsible for ensuring their products meet European safety and quality standards.
In addition, the EU plans to introduce a €2 fee on small packages entering the bloc. Most of these shipments come from China through platforms like Temu and Shein. The Trade Commissioner stressed this is not a new tax but a way to “offset” the cost of handling the massive volume of parcels that customs officials now deal with every day.
