New recycling bins installed on Mazarrón beaches
The new bins are just the start of a broader recycling and waste management campaign
New recycling bins have been installed on several beaches in Puerto de Mazarrón as part of an initiative to improve waste collection during the busy summer season.
The new collection points feature three separate compartments for plastic, paper and organic waste, encouraging beachgoers to separate their rubbish and helping to keep the coastline clean.
The first phase of the project has seen the bins installed at El Puerto and El Rihuete beaches. Mazarrón Town Hall has said that more units will be placed on other beaches in Puerto de Mazarrón over the coming days.
Mazarrón's coastline is one of the municipality's main attractions, particularly during the summer months when visitor numbers increase significantly. The addition of more recycling points is expected to make waste disposal more convenient and support efforts to keep the beaches clean throughout the holiday season.
Sources from the town hall have also confirmed that further installations will continue until the remaining urban beaches in Puerto de Mazarrón are equipped with the new recycling bins.
