New Lidl store opening in Murcia city
The 5-million-euro investment is just the latest in a string of new openings across the Region of Murcia
Lidl is opening a new supermarket in El Esparragal, a district to the northwest of Murcia capital city, following an investment of 5 million euros. The new store, which replaces the previous location on Calle Puesta de Sol, also located in El Esparragal, offers over 1,400m2 of sales area and features a range of modern, sustainable initiatives, including photovoltaic panels that will generate 30% of its energy needs.
The new facility includes 110 parking spaces and three charging points for electric vehicles, while energy-efficient LED lighting is used throughout. With the creation of seven additional jobs, the store now employs 21 workers, contributing to Lidl’s growing presence in the Region of Murcia, where the company already provides more than 630 jobs.
It comes just after a new Lidl store was inaugurated in Lorca at the beginning of September.
Lidl’s regional director, Miquel Alberola, expressed his pride in the new store, emphasising its improved size, sustainability and enhanced shopping experience.
