Murcia weekly weather April 29-May 5: More rain forecast
It will be a wet but warm start to the week before the sun comes back out for the second half
Murcia weather forecast, Monday April 29
Rain is forecast in the Region of Murcia for the first three days of this week, up to May 1, which is a bank holiday for International Workers’ Day, but then from Thursday onwards it should be sunny again and temperatures could rise to over 30ºC.
This Monday April 29, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow weather warning for the risk of heavy rain in the west of the Region of Murcia. Between 12pm and 9pm, they warn of the possibility of up to 15mm of rainfall accumulating per hour. The rest of the community will also be on the receiving end of heavy downpours and thunderstorms for almost the entire day, and it will be quite windy on the coast.

Tuesday 30 brings more “cloudy skies, with the possibility of light rainfall” but it won’t be nearly as stormy as Monday. Winds are predicted to die down to a “moderate” speed.

The rain continues into Wednesday May 1, starting off the new month with some more welcome showers “occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms” and “light westerly winds”. All this rain will help to ensure that Murcia has plenty of water to see it through to the end of the year without more restrictions being imposed, and it is likely that, thanks to the recent rains, the ‘situation of extraordinary drought’ that was declared back in March could be lifted at the beginning of May.

Through all the rain this week, temperatures will remain fairly high at their usual level, with night-time minimums at around 10ºC and daytime maximums in the low- to mid-20s. On Thursday May 2, when it stops raining altogether and the sun comes back out for the rest of the week, temperatures are actually predicted to drop by a couple of degrees, but for the most part it will stay in the same mild range we have had recently.

Indeed, on Saturday 4, with the sun still shining, temperatures are expected to take a little jump up so that Murcia capital city and parts of the centre of the Region could see highs of 29ºC and over 30ºC on Sunday 5.
