Malaga Airport breaks new records: 118 cities to choose from this winter
UK flights surge as airport tops 10 million seats for the first time and expands links across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
Anyone thinking of heading home to the UK for a break this winter, or venturing further afield, will have more options than ever before.Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport is offering a record number of flights and seats, with the United Kingdom once again its top destination. London alone will see nearly 907,000 seats available on more than 4,800 flights, up over 10 percent from last year, making it the busiest route out of Malaga this winter.
But it is not just about the UK. For the first time, the airport will smash through the 10 million seat barrier during the off-season, reaching a total of 10.4 million seats on sale. Travellers can choose from 217 different routes linking Malaga to an impressive 118 cities in 34 countries, bringing the Costa del Sol closer than ever to countries across Europe and beyond.
This all means Malaga is not only keeping up with demand but is now firmly putting itself on the winter travel map. The airport expects nearly 60,000 flight movements between now and Saturday March 28, 2026, a jump of more than 5 percent on last winter.
Over 8 million of those seats are on European routes, with destinations like Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Dublin, Milan, and Copenhagen all ranking high on the list for flights and available seats.
Links with the rest of Spain are also expanding, with more than 13,000 domestic flights and 1.8 million seats available. Further afield, Malaga is stepping up connections to Africa and the Middle East as well, with seat capacity soaring by 46 percent and 11 percent respectively, bringing new opportunities for travel in just a short hop.
Even routes to Germany, France, Poland, and Ireland are booming, with double-digit growth in both flights and available seats. The icing on the cake? Malaga’s winter sun is about to be shared with more visitors than ever.
So, whether you’re chasing the northern lights, booking a city break, or popping home for a great British cup of tea and a mince pie, Malaga Airport is making it even easier to get wherever you want to go this winter.
