ARCHIVED - Lorry suspected of involvement in the latest Camposol ATM theft recovered
Mazarrón Local Police find lorry in El Paretón lemon groves.
The lorry equipped with a crane which is suspected of being used to steal an ATM machine from Sector B of the Camposol development early last week had been stolen from La Unión near Cartagena on June 15.
The theft of the lorry from Gambín Construction Materials company in La Unión was filmed by video surveillance cameras installed by the company and in the images two people were seen to lock the dogs guarding the premises in an enclosure before stealing the truck valued at 27,000 euros. The owners of the company offered a 300-euro reward for information about its whereabouts.
After being found on Friday morning by officers of Mazarrón Local Police the lorry has been returned to the owners, although when it was found it was not working and is thought to have been abandoned after it had broken down on the way to another crime being carried out by a professional criminal gang. The ATM was not found at the scene and is still missing.
This latest ATM crime is the last in a long list of cash machines which have been stolen or broken into in the two commercial centres on the Camposol development.
