The Cinemax cinema in the Parque Almenara shopping centre in Lorca is showing the Andrea Chénier opera from the Royal Opera House in London on Tuesday June 11.Andrea Chénier will be broadcast via satellite at 8.15pm, but it will not be live. Rather, it will be a recording of the performance from June 5.

Five years later, the Revolution has given way to the Terror, and the balance of power between Chénier, his beloved Magdalena and Gérard, the man who could destroy everything, is put to an intense test.
This spectacular production, led by renowned tenor Jonas Kaufmann, under the masterful direction of David McVicar and the expert baton of Antonio Pappano, immerses you in an epic historical drama about the struggle for freedom and love in times of political upheaval. From the lavish halls of aristocracy to the tumultuous streets of Paris, Andrea Chénier will take you on an emotional journey that explores the boundaries of sacrifice, passion and loyalty. Don’t miss Pappano’s latest production as music director of the Royal Opera, an operatic experience that will leave you in awe.
The role of Carlo Gérard will be played by Amartuvshin Enkhbat. Regrettably, Carlos Álvarez has withdrawn from all performances of Andrea Chénier.
