Europe's tallest water slide has just opened in Benidorm
Verti-Go at Aqualandia stands 33 metres tall and holds the title of the world's tallest capsule slide

If you've ever fancied the feeling of jumping off a 13-storey building, Benidorm's Aqualandia has just the thing for you. Europe's oldest water park has opened for the season this weekend with its headline attraction, Verti-Go, back and ready to terrify all visitors.
The ride is a 33-metre-high red capsule slide that holds two records simultaneously: the tallest water slide in Europe and the tallest capsule slide in the world. Anyone brave enough to step inside the capsule will go from standing still to over 100km/h in just three seconds, so this one definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted.
For those who want a slightly longer adrenaline fix, Cyclone is another standout attraction. Europe's longest water coaster covers 200 metres on four-seater rafts, with drops of up to 40 metres and a huge final funnel where riders spin at speed before it's all over.
Next to Verti-Go there's also a green slide standing 28 metres tall, which would be the star attraction at most other parks but here feels like the warm-up act.
Not everything at Aqualandia is designed to make your heart rate spike, though. The park has plenty of more relaxed options including The Rapids and The Soft Slides, both of which have been part of the complex since it opened in the mid-1980s.
Families with younger children are well catered for too, with Adventureland and the Jungle Kids area in the popular Lagoon zone offering six slides of varying heights and intensities.
Aqualandia Benidorm spans 150,000 square metres and has more than twenty attractions in total, making it one of the most exciting water parks on the Costa Blanca.
