Ed Sheeran performs in the Canary Islands for one night only, tickets sell out in 10 minutes
Almost all of the 35,000 tickets that just went on sale for Tenerife’s most eagerly anticipated gig of 2024 have sold out in just 10 minutes
There hasn’t been so much excitement over a musical performance in the Canary Islands since Michael Jackson took to the stage three decades ago, but Ed Sheeran’s appearance on June 29 promises to be the unmissable event of 2024.
The upcoming gig is a massive deal for Tenerife, since Santa Cruz will host the only concert by the Halifax artist in Spain next year. The choice of venue comes as no surprise, however, as the British musician spent many happy summers on the island as a child with his parents, who own a house in south Tenerife.
He even has a song about the place called ‘Tenerife Sea’.
Just over 35,000 tickets for the event went on sale on www.edsheeran.com at 10am on Friday November 10 and according to local media almost all of them sold out within the first 10 minutes, despite the fact they don’t come cheap. The Heliodoro Rodríguez López, the stadium of the Club Deportivo Tenerife, will be divided into four sections, with the stage in front of the goal posts.
Prices for stadium seats range from 69 euros to 89 euros but there’s also a VIP option available. This comes in at a saucy 250 euros but includes exclusive access to a private box.
