Camposol Medical Centre assigned additional doctor
The regional health authority assigns a third doctor to the Camposol Medical Centre
The Murcia regional health authority (S.M.S) has assigned a third doctor to the state health Medical Centre (Consultorio) on the Camposol urbanisation. This facility is provided principally for people registered with the Spanish Health System.
Since opening in December 2010 the Camposol Medical Centre has operated with an established compliment of 2 doctors and 2 nurses, but as the years have past and more Camposol residents have registered with the Spanish public health system and waiting times for appointments have become longer. This may in some part be because the average age of the patient catchment for Camposol is older than other medical centres (the population of the Camposol urbanisation is made up primarily of senior citizens from UK and other European countries, who because of their advancing years tend to require supplementary medical assistance).
The medical centre is located next to a soon-to-be-opened private hospital which is expected to offered a wide range of treatments and services and create over 300 direct and indirect jobs.
Before the latest addition the two doctors registered at the medical centre were; Dra María Catalá López and Dra Lucía Muñoz Alonso. Now Dr Antonio José Antón Bueso has been added to the centre and the patient registration has been modified to reallocate registered residents into 3 designated lists, one for each doctor.
Residents who are being reallocated on to the new doctor’s list are currently being sent letters informing them of the situation and advising them to take the letter along with their Medical card or temporary paper document the next time they visit the Medical Centre so a new label identifying the new doctor can be affixed to their card.

Since January 1, 2002, the Ministry of Health, through the Murcian Health Service (S.M.S.), manages health care in our Region.
To improve healthcare. The S.M.S has incorporated a new professional to the staff of its health center. For this reason, a distribution has been made of the population that each doctor is responsible for serving.
In this sense, we inform you that after December 18, 2023, the following Family Medicine physician will be assigned:

The next time you go to your health center and in order to complete your health card and attach the new label to the back, you must present this letter along with your card at the information point.
Since the addition of the new doctor, patients have noticed that some appointment requests are being offered consultation times within 24 hours. Currently there has been no announcement regarding an increase in the number of nurses allotted to the medical centre.
There has been some criticism of the card renewal procedure with patients waiting over 2 years for new cards, the regional health authority has recently announced that they are introducing a new localised card issuing system.
