Camposol 2025 Group - Summer update
It’s been a busy few months for the Camposol 2025 Group and all the projects are aimed at improving Camposol
In this update the 2025 Group highlight some great community initiatives, starting with the landscaped area adjacent to the refuse bins on Sector B, solar street lights on Sector C and an update on the exercise area by the football pitch on Sector D.
Sector B landscaping
An initiative by B-Clean Gardening Group to landscape the area behind the refuse bins on the roundabout at the junction of Calles Tamariz, Ciclamen and Lavanda. The B team have taken an unkempt area full of wild shrubs and weeds and turned it into a gravelled, garden with planted pots and edged with stones. A great example of a simple idea turned into a beautiful landscaped area.
Solar lighting
The residents at the end of Calle Martos on Sector C took advantage of the Camposol 2025 solar lights scheme and purchased 6 solar lights for their private road. The lights were recently installed on existing lamp posts by volunteers as the last phase of the solar lights initiative. Feedback from residents has been very positive.
Potholes
Over recent months there have been many reports of an increasing number of potholes on the urbanisation, particularly on D sector. Last week, a white knight took it upon themselves to fill some of the holes in on Avenida de Los Covachos with concrete, for which many are extremely grateful. There are still some significant issues and we would encourage residents to make use of the Línea Verde app to report these, or even submit a form Modelo1 to the council.
Exercise area
The exercise area situated next to the football pitch began as a positive benefit for Camposol has turned into a project that unfortunately remains unfinished and with some issues with the installation of some of the equipment. Camposol 2025 contacted María Isabel Carrillo, the new Mazarrón Councillor for Sport, and met with her along with Andrés Aznar, the Councillor for Tourism and Contracting, Camposol Free Community Sports and the Camposol Business Association on July 17 to discuss the outstanding issues as well as outline further opportunities to work with the Town Hall to improve the facilities in this small but very important area of the urbanisation. The talks were very positive, Councillor Carrillo even tried some of the equipment and now the municipal elections are over and a new council team has been established it is hoped the exercise area will be completed shortly including the items on the snagging list.
At the same time the fitness equipment is well used and is a welcome addition to facilities on Camposol.
