Barcelona restaurant wins best in the world
The best restaurant in the world is in Spain... and so is the second best!
The best restaurant in the world is in Spain! This is ‘Disfrutar’, a restaurant in Barcelona run by Catalan chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas, which has just been crowned as the best restaurant in the world 2024 at the gala ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ awards, held in Las Vegas.
Disfrutar is followed by the Spanish restaurants Asador Etxebarri and DiverXO, which came in second and fourth place, respectively.
All the restaurants on the list of the 50 best in the world are selected by a group of 1,080 experts assembled by the British magazine ‘Restaurant’.
Taking home first place, Disfrutar takes over from the Peruvian restaurant ‘Central’, which was awarded the best restaurant in the world in 2023. Last year, Disfrutar came second and they were third in 2022, so to win the title is a massive achievement for them this year.
This year, Spain has five restaurants among the 50 best in the world.
