ARCHIVED - An oversight or taking a chance that could cost you 50 euros on Camposol
A shopping trip that could cost more than anticipated
Some years ago after public complaints to the Police regarding traffic hold-ups at the entrance to the “Consum” car park in the shopping centre on Sector B of Camposol, a “No left turn” sign was erected (indicated with red arrow in picture), reinforced by a solid white line in the middle of the road, by the Policia Local.
However, complaints have continued to be received as many drivers are still turning left or waiting to turn left causing traffic build up and confusion. Various excuses have been heard, including “I didn’t see a sign”, “well nothing was coming”, “the Police are never around to catch offenders” etc, but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) these excuses are not a valid defence and with the recent addition of extra officers this is one of the Camposol issues that the Policía Local are looking to include in their patrols.
So for those drivers who let their concentration wander, or feel it’s worth taking a chance, Mazarrón Policia Local have confirmed that a 50-euro fine is the penalty for not obeying the “No left turn” signalling.
