It's been a varied week in Andalucía, with cloud, some light rain and brisk coastal winds keeping things feeling more unsettled than usual for late August. This weekend gradually shakes that off. Thursday and Friday still have some rain to get through, particularly in the east, but by Saturday and Sunday the region is looking at clearer skies and temperatures on the rise again. A decent finish to the month.

 

 

Most of Andalucía sees cloudy skies with light rain during the first half of the day, clearing through the afternoon. The eastern third is a little different: partly cloudy with cloud building during the afternoon and the chance of thunderstorms and locally moderate rain. Almería carries a heat warning, with the Almanzora valley seeing significantly high temperatures despite the wider region cooling. Dust is in suspension in the far east, with mud deposits possible where rain falls. Strong westerly gusts are possible along the eastern coast towards the end of the day. Temperatures ease almost everywhere, with maximums holding only on the Mediterranean coast. Huelva, on the Atlantic side, sees one of the sharper drops.

 

 

The east bears the brunt of things today. Cloudy skies in the eastern third bring light to moderate rain, heaviest in Almería during the morning, with the chance of early thunderstorms. Temperatures shift in opposite directions: a significant fall in maximums in the far east, while the rest of the region sees them rise. Strong westerly winds in the Almería area through the morning give way to lighter, variable northerly winds elsewhere. Cádiz, well away from the eastern action, should enjoy a noticeably more pleasant day.

 

 

A much more agreeable picture. Partly cloudy skies with high cloud drifting through, and no significant weather concerns. Temperatures are rising across most of the region, with Granada and Seville both reaching 35°C. The Málaga coast and the Strait area are the exception, seeing little change or a slight dip in maximums. Tarifa does its own thing as ever, the Atlantic influence keeping things breezier and a touch cooler than inland. Winds are light and variable with sea breezes along the coast.

 

 

A fine close to the month. Clear skies across Andalucía, minimums rising and a gentle, settled feel to the day. Jaén inland and Córdoba on the Guadalquivir plain both benefit from the improving pattern, with Córdoba reaching 37°C. Light and variable winds with coastal breezes make it a comfortable day to be outside, particularly near the sea.

 

 

August goes out on a high. After the rain and wind of recent days, Sunday in particular looks like a reminder of what the season is supposed to feel like.
