Last weekend felt like a different season in Andalucía, compared to the recent relentless heat, with largely settled skies and temperatures sitting at far more manageable levels. This week continues in a similarly varied vein, though Monday brings a more active picture for the western third of the region, with rain warnings in place and some lively gusts along the Mediterranean coast.

 

 

The west gets the worst of it today. Huelva and Seville are both under weather warnings for rainfall, with very cloudy skies, light to moderate rain and the chance of thunderstorms, becoming heavier towards the Atlantic coast before clearing in the afternoon. Away from there, it's partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms possible in the easternmost mountain ranges during the afternoon. Temperatures are a mixed picture: maximums fall inland but rise along the coast, while minimums climb in the western third. Winds are generally westerly and increasing, with strong gusts possible along the eastern Mediterranean coast from the afternoon onwards.

 

 

A much calmer day across the board. The Atlantic side wakes up to cloudy skies with morning mist and the chance of some drizzle, but this clears to partly cloudy skies by the afternoon. The rest of the region enjoys mostly clear or sunny conditions, with some high cloud drifting in later on. Granada has one of the more interesting temperature ranges of the day, dropping to 14°C overnight before climbing back to 35°C in the afternoon. Maximums rise across most of the region, with the exception of the far east where they ease slightly. Winds are light and variable inland, turning westerly through the day, with light to moderate winds along the Mediterranean coast.

 

 

Partly cloudy skies for most of Andalucía, with the main action at either end of the region. Occasional showers are possible in the far east and the far west, and there's dust in suspension in the east with the chance of mud deposits where rain falls. Córdoba and the Atlantic slope see maximums ease, while the Mediterranean side holds steady or edges up. Jaén, sitting in the middle of the region, should see a fairly representative mix of cloud and brightness. Westerly winds, moderate with strong gusts along the Mediterranean coast.

 

 

A split day to close the week. The eastern third enjoys predominantly clear skies, while the rest of the region turns cloudier with occasional showers possible. Dust lingers in the far east. Temperatures fall in most areas, though the Guadalquivir basin is an exception, with minimums rising and maximums holding steady there. Málaga on the coast and Tarifa at the tip of the peninsula both stay in the path of moderate westerly winds, with strong gusts along the Mediterranean shore.

 

 

It's a week that keeps forecasters on their toes. Monday's rain in the west is the headline act, but the unsettled edge to proceedings lingers into Thursday, with the eastern and western fringes of the region catching the most of it.
