After yesterday's school closures across parts of Andalucía due to severe weather, the region faces another unsettled few days. Expect persistent cloud, frequent rain and powerful westerly winds, particularly along the coasts and higher ground.

 

 

Very cloudy or overcast skies bring widespread moderate rain, turning locally heavy and persistent over the mountain ranges and Atlantic slopes, though lighter in the far east. Overnight temperatures rise sharply, feeling milder first thing, while daytime highs stay steady or lift along the Mediterranean coast around Málaga. Westerly winds blow moderate inland but strengthen to strong along the coasts and higher elevations, with very strong gusts under orange wind warnings in Cádiz, Granada and Almería.

 

 

Partly cloudy skies bring high cloud along the Mediterranean and low cloud with light rain on the Atlantic side and around Huelva and Seville and more stormy weather inland. Some sunshine will break through in the far east of the region. Night-time temperatures dip and daytime values hold steady or fall slightly. Westerly winds stay light to moderate inland and moderate along the coast, with very strong gusts continuing in the eastern third where the orange wind alert remains for Almería.

 

 

Partly cloudy skies mix with light rain over the mountain ranges but not ruling out the Atlantic watershed around Córdoba. Temperatures drop, particularly along the Mediterranean, and light to moderate frost forms in the eastern interior near Granada. Westerly winds ease somewhat along the Mediterranean coast but remain strong with very strong gusts in the eastern third and light to moderate elsewhere.

 

 

Cloudy or overcast skies return with light rain on the Atlantic slope and moderate falls in the western mountains near Jaén. Night-time temperatures rise in the west but stay similar elsewhere, while daytime highs climb. Light frost persists in eastern highlands. Southwesterly winds blow light to moderate along the Atlantic but turn light and variable on the Mediterranean side near Tarifa.

 

 

Andalucía stays unsettled through the weekend with rain and coastal winds continuing, though rising temperatures bring some midwinter mildness by Sunday.
