Al Kasar Commercial Centre work delay has mixed blessing
New owners announce slight delay in Commercial Centre central feature work, but it could have a silver lining
The new owners of the Al Kasar Commercial Centre at Condado de Alhama have announced that the start of the proposed renovation of the central water feature, a large artificial lake, will be delayed until later in the year. Although a slight disappointment, the news was greeted by some of the businesses with relief as the original schedule would have meant the square’s terraces would have been next to a building site during the peak summer months, the busiest time of the year.
The announcement issued recently was worded as follows:

Due to the slowness of the construction permit and various authorisations necessary to carry out the works for the renovation of the artificial lake of Al Kasar, we are forced to start works in the last quarter of 2024.
During the summer of this year we will open the lake space as a recreation area for children.

While the procedure through the red tape of local councils is infamous, in this case it could have worked in the Al Kasar business’s favour.
