A mass demonstration has been arranged by Mazarrón Council’s governing coalition (PSOE and UIDM) and the opposition parties (PP, C's and VOX) will also attend.
Mazarrón Councillor for Health, Francisco J. García has also extended invitations to Murcia Regional Assembly MPs, Pascual Salvador Hernández of VOX and Inma Lardín of the PP who live in the municipality.
This coming Saturday, September 3 at 8:00 p.m. the Town Council has organised a "Demonstration for Health" at the doors of the Puerto de Mazarrón medical centre. The Council is requesting that the Murcia Regional Health Authority (SMS) retain the 24-hour emergency service for the whole year at the said medical centre, which would usually revert to off season restricted hours.
Various groups are joining the demonstration, including "Mazarrón Avanza", "Plasma Salud" (The Mazarrón Healthcare pressure group) and the Residents Association of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Mazarrón Mayor, Gaspar Miras, encourages residents to fight for "a historical claim", indicating that we currently have "sanitary deficiencies" in the municipality.
